Law Burger, A Beat-inspired Sci-fi Novel by A.H.A. Roan

Tailored as a fiction of irresponsibility, Law Burger is presented as a story of abandoned values, asking the underlying question of our lives: if you pay your dues and get nothing in return, why not cater to your inner desires while you still have some time left. (40,500 word manuscript)

Main characters of the story:

Larry Springberg, Good looking, typically intoxicated, currently lacking morality.

North Divine, An aberration of the common man, mysteriously employed and well to do.

Wells Mac, Just out of jail, this old friend is an intelligent, traumatized, capable accomplice.

Ruby, She lives the life of the con, always moving on from one rush and scam to the next.

And so, with the rug of life pulled out from under him, Larry Springberg becomes a born-again human being on a reckless hunt for a fresh high of gratification. Sure you might see an old picture of him as a wanted criminal on the news, but get to know the man behind the broken marriage, the Chinese food and the designer brand name handgun.

Set in an oddly recognizable future version of the United States, some things on The Dark Side of The Moon, like cash and booze will always stay the same, but technology and the stars on the flag are in a different league now. Once Larry meets up with his old friends and learns they still see life as a playground, there’ll be no stopping Law Burger.
